This program is designed to increase the workforce readiness of Maryland’s nursing graduates, ultimately increasing statewide nursing capacity, by preparing nursing faculty to incorporate competency-based education (CBE) best practices in their academic programs.

Regional Faculty Development Workshops: Registration Coming Soon
Learn how to implement CBE into your teaching. Practice key CBE skills in real time, with guidance from experienced national experts.
Workshop Follow-Up Support
- Fireside Forums: An opportunity to share strategies, lessons learned, and challenges in incorporating CBE, ask questions, practice workshop concepts, and receive targeted feedback from peers and project faculty
- Catalyzing Consultation Services: Personalized consultation to assist faculty in their CBE development process
CBE Summit: Coming Spring 2027
This in-person summit will bring faculty from across Maryland together to share their experiences with CBE. Attendees and teams are encouraged to submit abstracts to exchange ideas on CBE implementation, with the chance to win the ‘Igniter of the Year’ award for exemplary work.
