What is special about UMSON students and alumni?
University of Maryland School of Nursing is consistently recognized among the top 10 “Best Colleges” among public schools of nursing according to the U.S. News & World Report annual ranking. Founded in 1889, the University of Maryland School of Nursing is the oldest nursing school in the country which shares a 61-acre campus in downtown Baltimore with the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s five other professional schools—Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Social Work, and the Graduate School.
Our campus is conveniently located near the University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, University of Maryland BioPark, and the Baltimore VA Medical Center.

What is Careers4Nurses and how do I open an account?
Careers4Nurses is our online recruitment platform which allows you to post nursing opportunities of all kinds for students to search and apply to seamlessly. You may also search resumes, and schedule on-campus recruitment events.
To open an account, go to Careers4Nurses and follow the prompts to type in your company email and create your password. Then click “Sign up”.
How do I post a job in Careers4Nurses?
Once your new employer registration is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for how to begin posting positions in the system.
How will I know who applies to our positions?
UMSON students/alumni will apply to your job via Careers4Nurses. When you post your position, the system will allow you to select how you prefer to receive applications – via email, via an external link, or whether you want applicants to apply via Careers4Nurses. If you select “apply via Careers4Nurses”, you will need to review applications by logging in to your Careers4Nurses account.
In your job posting settings, you can also indicate if you would like to be notified by email when someone applies, and how often you receive those email notifications.
What if I don’t know my password for Careers4Nurses?
Visit the Careers4Nurses login page, enter the email you used to create the account (your company email), and click “Next”. On the next page, click “Forgot Password” and follow the prompts to create a new password. If you need assistance, please email NRSCareers@umaryland.edu. Please allow 24-48- hours for a reply.
How can we connect with UMSON students to share information about our organization?
The UMSON Baltimore and Shady Grove campuses regularly host employers on campus during the fall and spring semesters. Should you have an interest in scheduling a visit to either the Baltimore or Shady Grove campus, please email: NRScareers@umaryland.edu.

Does your school host in-person recruitment events?
UMSON hosts employer visits during the fall and spring semesters at both the Baltimore and Universities at Shady Grove locations. Should you have an interest in scheduling a visit to either location, please email NRScareers@umaryland.edu.
