The Office of Research and Scholarship Events
The University of Maryland School of Nursing's Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS) hosts a variety of meetings and seminars that support nurse researchers, staff and students across the University community.
How to Participate:
Registration is completed once per event series. After registering, you will receive calendar reminders and event updates for the full series.

Monthly Events
Monthly Research Seminar
The Monthly Research Seminar highlights current research, methodologies, and best practices relevant to investigators and research staff across disciplines.
BBAL Monthly Meeting
The BBAL Monthly Meeting provides updates, discussion, and shared learning related to biobehavioral and applied laboratory research initiatives.
CHEOR Monthly Meeting
The CHEOR Monthly Meeting focuses on collaboration, updates, and scholarship related to health equity and outcomes research.
Additional Support Services
Statistical Support
UMSON Statisticians will support UMSON faculty and students pre award by working alongside them to produce proposals and post award by assisting with data analyses and interpretation.
Pre-award services include:
- Clarification of study hypotheses/aims and problem definition
- Study and research design
- Sample size and power calculation
- Determination of appropriate statistical methodology
Post-award services include, but not limited to:
- Data monitoring/supervision
- Measurement and interim analyses
- Statistical data analyses
- Interpretation and dissemination of the statistical results, including describing the statistical methods; writing statistical results sections for reports, research, and data-based articles; and presenting the results to the local and national meetings
Research Quality Assurance & Institutional Review Board (IRB) Support
The Office of Research and Scholarship provides assistance with Quality Assurance and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes. Services include but are not limited to; pre-IRB reviews, consultation and advice regarding regulatory and compliance issues, trainings, and education.
