The display includes the Gottwals Memorial Award, a hand-colored portrait of Tegler in her graduate uniform and cap, and the blue wool cloak she wore as a student. The silver letters on the collar designated her as a student at University Hospital (now the University of Maryland Medical Center). The hospital was the primary clinical site for nursing students in the 1940s and 1950s.

The display was assembled and donated by Tegler’s daughter Tracy Highlander, BSN ’77, in 2022.
