Donor-Funded Scholarship Application

Before You Begin:

Applicants should read all of the instructions carefully before completing the scholarship application. Please review these general eligibility requirements for donor-funded scholarships:

  • be a current/enrolled student
  • complete a FAFSA prior to the scholarship deadline
  • meet any additional requirements as listed under Donor-Funded Scholarships on the UMSON Scholarships page.

Instructions:

Step 1: The Essay

Your application must include a 300 - 500-word statement that addresses the following questions:

  1. What personal or professional experience do you have that directly relates to the special requirements of the scholarship?
  2. What goals do you have that relate to the special requirements of the scholarship?
  3. How will you benefit from the scholarship?

Each essay must be unique to the scholarship that you are applying for.

Step 2: The Resume

Submitting your resume is required and is an opportunity to highlight any accomplishments that make you an ideal donor scholarship recipient. Your resume should reflect all applicable work history, research experience, community service, leadership experience, and awards.

Step 3: The Application

Please do not fill out the online application until you are ready to upload your essay and resume.

You must submit one application for each scholarship for which you'd like to apply.

When completing the online application, you will need to enter your Student ID number. The application will list only the scholarships that are available for your classification (undergraduate vs. graduate). Upon submission of the application, you will receive an email confirming receipt of the application. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please email the Office of Admissions and Student Scholarships at admissions.nursing@umaryland.edu.
