You’re officially on your way to joining the University of Maryland School of Nursing community. Orientation is the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other and help you start strong!
Attendance at orientation is required for all students.
Orientation Details
Orientation consists of two parts:
- UMSON Orientation – Dive into the specifics of your program, meet your faculty, connect with peers, and learn about the tools for your success at the School of Nursing.
- UMB Orientation – Get familiar with the broader University policies, services, and resources.

Fall 2025 UMB New Student Orientation
Orientation attendance is required for all newly admitted students.
This University-wide event introduces you to the essential resources and support services available at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) — outside of the School of Nursing.
Please note: UMB New Student Orientation is separate from UMSON Orientation, and students are expected to attend/complete it in addition to all orientations for their program.
