Information and Guidelines

All abstracts should be submitted using the online submission process outlined below. Be sure to review the conference overview, objectives, and submission guidelines before you begin. If you have questions during this process, please contact instituteforeducators@umaryland.edu.

NURSING EDUCATION (NED) TALKS

In our take on TED Talks, these on-stage presentations offer a dynamic platform for nurse educators to deliver a brief, 10-minute narrative showcasing their experience with innovative teaching strategies or technologies in practice. Each presentation is followed by a 5-minute question-and-answer session, creating an engaging and interactive experience. Each NED talk will allow for a single speaker/presenter. Co-authors or teams may be acknowledged during the presentation if desired.

Poster Presentations

Highlight your innovative teaching strategies, technologies, or evidence-based practices in nursing education through a scholarly poster presentation. This interactive session allows attendees to explore a variety of topics relevant to the conference theme, while providing opportunities for one-on-one conversations with presenters, fostering meaningful networking and collaboration.

Submission Guidelines

Prepare a brief, 150 - 350-word abstract for a NED Talk or poster presentation that describes an innovative example, experience, or idea that inspires colleagues to lead effectively, adapt to change, apply new teaching strategies, or explore technologies for nursing education now and in the future.

To complete your abstract submission:

  1. Review the conference overview and objectives (above).
  2. Prepare your abstract in a Word document and confirm all information is included before starting the online submission process. Abstracts should include:
    • Primary author name and credentials
    • Co-author name and credentials (including those of all collaborating partners, who must be named at the time of submission)
    • Choice of NED Talk, poster presentation, or consideration for either
    • Abstract title
    • 150 - 350-word abstract in narrative form
    • Two learning objectives for the presentation
    • Recent, relevant content references (at least two) in APA format
  1. Copy and paste the text of your abstract into the box(es) provided in the online form. The abstract narrative will accept no more than 350 words. Longer abstracts will be truncated.
  2. Incomplete forms, alternatively formatted submissions, and emailed submissions will not be considered for review.
  3. Please note that abstract submissions must be completed in one sitting as there is no ability to save and return to your work. Be sure to have all required information prepared before starting the submission process.

The primary presenter will receive email notification of the review committee’s decision after Feb. 2, 2026.

Presenter Commitment and Registration

Your commitment to present and a completed full conference registration form for the primary presenter must be received on or before Feb. 13, 2026. Failure to register by this deadline will constitute declining to present. Presenters must register to attend the conference.
