The School of Nursing: The Basics

The University of Maryland School of Nursing's (UMSON) Doctor of Nursing Practice program is ranked #5 and its master's program is ranked #8 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. We also rank 20th nationally in receipt of funding for nursing schools from the National Institutes of Health.

UMSON shares a 61-acre campus in downtown Baltimore with the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s five other professional schools—Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Social Work—and the Graduate School. Our campus is conveniently located near the University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, University of Maryland BioPark, and the Baltimore VA Medical Center.
