Clinical Simulation Labs
State-of-the-art facilities where health care students develop their clinical decision making skills in a controlled, life-like environment.
In the Debra L. Spunt Clinical Simulation Labs (CSLs), students and practitioners gain vital experience by participating in realistic clinical case scenarios with faculty guidance. The practice of simulation-based health care education is advanced through a program of research with the ultimate goal of making health care safer for patients.
The 24 labs are designed to replicate realistic practice environments, including:
- Critical care
- Operating room
- Home care
- Health assessment settings
The Universities at Shady Grove operates six interdisciplinary CSLs. Each has a multi-focus lab, replicating multiple clinical settings in one lab, as well as a health assessment lab.
