Registration Information for Baltimore Students

BSN

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program

New students will register for classes during S.T.E.P. I of the S.T.E.P. Program. If you are unable to attend this program, contact the Student Success Center at 410-706-5426 for instructions on registering.

Instructions

All students must complete the following prior to attending S.T.E.P. I:

1. Register for S.T.E.P. I.

Please contact the Student Success Center at 410-706-5426 or nrsstudentsuccesscenter@umaryland.edu to register for an available date.

2. Create a UMID and Email.

Create your UMID and password, and set up your email account.

UMID:

  1. Go to UMB Account Management and click “New User, Set Up Account” at the bottom.
  2. A prompt will appear requesting you to create a user ID and password.

Off-campus access to library resources, including e-journals, e-books, electronic reserves, and databases, require that you sign in with your UMID.

Email:

Your campus email address is the only official way UMSON will relay important information to you electronically. When you are eligible to create your “official” campus email address, you will receive a message from UMSON to the personal email we have on file with further instructions.

3. Review the Schedule.

You will register for classes at your scheduled S.T.E.P. I; view the Spring 2018 BSN Lab Group Schedules.

Once you have registered for classes, visit the One Card website to learn how to apply for your student ID card. You may pick up your student ID card at any time, including during S.T.E.P. II on campus.

Advising

New RN-to-BSN and RN-to-MS students do not need an advisor's approval to register for the first semester. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to register for classes and submit your form directly to the Office of Records and Registration. Allow 48 hours for processing, then log in to SURFS to register for classes.

Advising for Newly Admitted PhD Students

All newly admitted PhD students can submit their approval to register forms to the Office of Graduate Studies at NRSDoctoral@umaryland.edu following the plan of study for full- or part-time students posted on our website. Full-time students must follow the full-time plan of study. Part-time students must follow the part-time plan of study.
