Registration Information for Baltimore Students

BSN

Spring 2016 Semester - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program

New students will register for classes during the Student Success Immersion Program (SSIP). If you are unable to attend an SSIP, contact the Student Success Center at 410-706-5426 for instructions on registering after the SSIPs have occurred. A $40 late fee will be applied for any student who registers after August 3, 2015. All students must complete the following steps prior to attending the SSIP.

Semester Begins: Monday, January 25, 2016

It is in your best interest to register as early as possible. An invoice will be generated once you register, but payment is not due until after January 1, 2016.

Instructions

1. Register for SSIP

Please contact the Student Success Center at 410-706-5426 or ssc@son.umaryland.edu to register for an available date.

2. Create a UMID and Password

  1. Go to http://www.umaryland.edu/surfs
  2. Click the first item on the left-side navigation labeled Login to SURFS
  3. Scroll down to the second paragraph and click on MyUM Account Management Site
  4. On the next screen, scroll down to and click on New First Time User
  5. A prompt will appear requesting you to create a user ID and password 
  6. After you have received an email from the School of Nursing stating that you are eligible to create your “official” campus email address, go to http://umaryland.edu/cits/service-catalog/googleappsumaryland for instructions on how to create a campus email address. Your campus email address is the only official way the School of Nursing will relay important information to you electronically.

3. Review the Schedule

Click here to see the lab group schedule. Prior to attending your SSIP, review the first-semester schedule options. You will be registering for classes at your scheduled SSIP. Please note, we cannot guarantee specific course days or times.

One Card Student ID Application Instructions

Once you have registered for classes, visit the One Card website to learn how to apply for your Student ID Card. You may pick up your Student ID Card anytime this summer or during campus orientation in August. 

RN-to-BSN

Spring 2016 Semester - RN-to-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-to-BSN) Program

New RN-to-BSN students do not need an advisor's approval to register for the first semester. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to register for classes and submit your form directly to the Office of Records and Registration. Allow 48 hours for processing, then log in  to SURFS to register for classes.

Advising for Newly Admitted PhD Students

All newly admitted PhD students can submit their approval to register forms to the Office of Graduate Studies at NursePhD@son.umaryland.edu following the plan of study for full- or part-time students posted on our website. Full-time students must follow the full-time plan of study. Part-time students must follow the part-time plan of study.
