Where to Promote to UMSON Audiences

Below is a list of places you may choose to promote your news, events, and initiatives.

Platform Submission Instructions

The Elm and UMSON's Weekly Newsletters
a community-driven website updated each business day; based on your selections upon submission, content will be added to these newsletters:

  • The Elm Weekly
    a weekly newsletter sent to all UMB faculty, staff, and students each Monday of select highlights from The Elm; submissions must be received by the prior Wednesday

  • The Elm Weekly: School of Nursing
    (Faculty/Staff) and The Scrub Hub (Students)

    a weekly digest of content published on The Elm: Nursing sent to UMSON faculty, staff, and students each Tuesday; submissions must be received by the prior Friday

Submit an Announcement:
news, initiatives, or event save-the-date or register-now reminders

Submit an Accolade:
awards, presentations, accomplishments, or kudos

Note that only the Office of Communications submits and manages Elm Stories.

UMSON Calendar
UMB's events calendar that feeds to the UMSON website and The Elm Weekly: School of Nursing

Submit via the UMSON Calendar Submission form (below).

Campus Life Weekly with USGA
a weekly newsletter managed by University Student Government Association and sent to students each Friday

Submit via the Campus Life Weekly with USGA form.

Digital Displays*
screens throughout UMB and the UMSON Baltimore and USG locations; note that only JPG images are accepted through the submission form

Submit via UMB's Digital Displays form  for UMB-wide screens.

Send your content to the Office of Communications for UMSON screens; please specify the relevant location.

Event Promotion Timeline

Below is a basic outline to help you plan for event promotion. If you are hosting the event at UMSON, be sure to reserve your space before you begin.

Content submitted to The Elm: Nursing is distributed on a weekly basis through:

  • The Elm Weekly: School of Nursing e-newsletter (UMSON faculty and staff) and Scrub Hub e-newsletter (UMSON students)
  • The Elm Weekly e-newsletter (all UMB faculty, staff, and students)
