Memories

Melissa Douglass

“I really enjoyed the Community/Public Health Nursing master’s specialty, but my most memorable experience was the Society, Health, and Social Justice course with Dr. Jeffrey Johnson. I learned so much and really appreciated the discussions. Being introduced to the work of Dr. Paul Farmer (Mountains Beyond Mountains) in this course was also memorable.”

— Melissa Douglas

“I will be eternally grateful to my advisor, Dr. Carolyn Waltz, who encouraged me to do something for myself. I entered the doctoral program after my master's program, delaying by one year, and joined my Air Force husband's assignment overseas. Taking her advice gave me the courage to insist on four of five separations during his military career to build my own career. Thanks Carolyn!”
