The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) is a collaboration of nine public degree-granting institutions that brings some of the top programs from across the state to one convenient location in Montgomery County. 

The Rockville, Maryland location is ideal for students in Montgomery County, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

Our programs at USG:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

This is a full-time, upper-division professional program. You'll need to complete two years (59 credits) of general studies and prerequisites before applying to enter the School of Nursing as a junior.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty

Nurses with a BSN (or master's) degree can earn your Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialty at USG. ‌This specialty prepares advanced practice nurses to be primary health care providers for individuals of all ages and their families.

In-Person Admissions Counseling Sessions, Including Walk-Ins:

Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can benefit from the in-person admissions counseling sessions offered by UMSON’s Office of Admissions and Student Scholarships at the Universities at Shady Grove. Gain further insights about our programs, requirements, and more. Walk-ins are also welcome during this time for your convenience.
