Established in 1889, the University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is the largest nursing school in Maryland and one of the largest in the nation. It enrolls more than 1,700 students, including more than 200 students at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, Md. UMSON's Doctor of Nursing Practice program is ranked 5th and it's master's program is ranked 8th nationally by U.S. News & World Report. It also ranks 20th in receipt of funding (for schools of nursing) from the National Institutes of Health. UMSON houses two interprofessional Organized Research Centers - Biology and Behavior Across the Life Span and Health Outcomes Research.
UMSON embraces a culture that embodies the University of Maryland, Baltimore's core values of accountability, civility, collaboration, diversity, excellence, knowledge, and leadership.
UMSON is seeking faculty candidates for tenure, tenure-track, and non-tenure track positions for its Baltimore and Shady Grove locations.
UMSON hires adjunct faculty to provide clinical instruction to entry-level students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and Clinical Nurse Leader master’s option and to teach in select undergraduate and graduate didactic courses at the Baltimore and Shady Grove locations. Master’s- and doctoral-prepared nurses are encouraged to send a cover letter outlining their expertise and desired area of teaching, as well as résumé/curriculum vitae, to Dean Jane Kirschling at email@example.com.
Our valued alumni, above all others, understand the importance of having skilled, experienced preceptors available throughout the community to work with students from UMSON as they complete their clinical requirements. Having successfully conquered the rigors of a UMSON degree program and transformed your education into practice, we look to our alumni to continue the learning cycle and to open their doors to students wishing to follow in their footsteps. If you are interested in helping to prepare a new generation of nurses by serving as a preceptor, call Kristy Novak at 410-706-0163 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
UMSON is seeking staff candidates for exempt, non-exempt, and contingent positions for its Baltimore and Shady Grove locations.
