In preparing for the spring 2021 semester, you must adhere to the Maryland state restrictions for domestic out-of-state travel, which includes personal travel. On Dec. 17, 2020, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan instituted travel restrictions for the state of Maryland. (The governor’s order and an amended directive and order from the Maryland secretary of health, also issued Dec. 17, are attached). When planning your return to UMSON for the spring 2021 semester, you must follow the state travel restrictions, summarized below. Consider these restrictions when arranging your return to school.
- Individuals who travel to Maryland from another state must immediately get a COVID-19 test upon arrival in Maryland or within 72 hours before traveling to Maryland.
- Individuals must quarantine until they receive their test results.
- Travel by Marylanders to the District of Columbia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia is exempt from testing requirements.
You can review all UMB COVID-19 requirements and other related information on the UMB website. Students with questions regarding travel restrictions, COVID testing requirements, vaccines and other information should attend a Q&A session scheduled for tomorrow or Friday. Times and links on the UMSON calendar events.
