Dear UMSON Faculty and Staff,
I hope that everyone is staying “cool” as we navigate the extreme heat in Maryland. This coming Monday, August 16, we will be returning to UMB and to USG in anticipation of the start of the fall semester. I am pleased to let you know that 98% of UMSON’s faculty and staff have reported being fully vaccinated. This high level of vaccination and UMB’s decision that we will wear masks indoors provides reassurance as we navigate the return to work.
With the exception of the staff in the North Building who are displaced due to the “window project” and/or first floor renovation, staff who are interested in teleworking one day/week need to complete the UMSON Staff Telework Request form. Requests to telework more than one day/week must have the support of your supervisor and require School-level approval. Upon your supervisor’s approval, you should submit the completed UMSON Staff Telework Request form to Karen Jarrell, human resource manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are requesting an alternative work schedule along with a request to telework, your supervisor will need to approve this as well and this request should be noted in the comments box of the form.
Karen Jarrell, Bill Gardiner and I will review the requests received for teleworking two or more days or for doing an alternative work schedule in conjunction with one day of telework and will notify the supervisor and employee within two weeks of receipt of the request.
I look forward to seeing many of you in person next week. In the meantime, stay hydrated and out of the heat as much as possible.
