April 27, 2020: Update on UMSON Summer Semester

Dear UMSON Students, Staff, and Faculty,

I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you our plans for delivery of summer 2020 academic content. Given the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic and guidance from the state and university as it relates to safe social distancing practices, we are planning to continue delivering all courses this summer through virtual platforms. As the pandemic situation is constantly evolving, we may revisit this decision, and we will certainly keep you updated on any changes.

Academic program leadership and faculty are working through the logistics of virtual delivery of our summer courses, including any clinical and simulation learning activities. As we approach the start of the semester, course coordinators and section faculty will be in touch with students to provide direction regarding how they will meet learning outcomes virtually.

I truly appreciate your patience and your dedication to the continuity of nursing education during this time. It takes a village, and we set an incredible example as nurses in rallying together through this crisis.

My best wishes to all of you.
