Earning my master’s degree opened my eyes to new possibilities beyond the bedside, allowing me to transition from my role as a surgical ICU nurse to working in injury and violence prevention within the Maryland Trauma System, where I focus on upstream measures to prevent injuries before they occur. I learned many of these critical skills directly in my graduate program and now apply them every day, using my advanced education to drive meaningful, lasting change in my field.
