During new student orientation, students will receive information about UMSON policies and procedures, as well as additional information about resources available at the School and UMB.
The Student Success Immersion Program (SSIP) provides students with the tools and refresher skills to be successful in their first semester and beyond. Students will have an opportunity to interact with other students in their cohort in a small group setting, review concepts of anatomy and physiology, and discuss skills related to medical dosage calculations. Students receive an introduction to their first semester laboratory courses and an overview of expectations.
The SSC directly advises and supports the Executive Nursing Government Board (ENGB) and student organizations. The ENGB is responsible for allocating student activity fees; tracking compliance with the University, School, and national associations; and offering recommendations on behalf of nursing student organizations.
Group advising workshops are offered each semester for entry-into-practice students. After participating in the workshop, you should have a plan of study/course planner sheet to track progression/matriculation, clarification on UMSON’s policies and procedures, understanding of the registration process, and approval to register.
