2008 Objectives

Those who attend SINI 2008 will be able to:
  1. Analyze the risks and benefits of sharing patient information among providers and agencies through health information exchanges.
  2. Examine the challenges of maintaining continuity of patient records over time and across locations in context of current efforts to overcome these challenges.
  3. Assess methods through which patient-centered records in an electronic health care records system can contribute to patientsensitive, evidence-based care.
  4. Identify factors critical to achieving the benefits of evidencebased care from patient-centered records.
  5. Compare and contrast different approaches to using patientcentered records to promote and support personal and family health management, including challenges and strategies to overcome them.
  6. Summarize benefits, risks, and policy issues related to re-use of data from patient-centered records. Include consideration of questions regarding data quality and accuracy.
