2009 Objectives
Those who attend SINI 2009 will be able to:
- Analyze the impact of health information technologies on communications and relationships between and among patients and care providers, family members, peer support groups, and clinicians.
- Describe how nurses interact with health information technologies and discuss the factors that influence work processes, performance, behaviors, and satisfaction.
- Analyze and synthesize data-based reports of the impact of health information technologies on patient outcomes, professional practice, and organizational processes.
- Describe how technologies and informatics are supporting the Forces of Magnetism in health care organizations.
- Evaluate examples of consumers use of informatics to promote and optimize personal health. Discuss the risks and benefits.
- Describe emerging technologies and critique their probable utility for enhancing practice at the point of care for both clinicians and consumers.
