UMB Library
The Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HS/HSL) is the first library established by a medical school in the United States. It is a recognized leader in state-of-the-art information technology. The HS/HSL provides faculty members, staff, and students with a focal point for both traditional and digital information resources and services.
Serving all schools on campus and the University of Maryland Medical Center, the HS/HSL contains more than 350,000 volumes, including more than 2,500 journal titles. The library has more than 900 seats, 40 study rooms, three microcomputer labs, a satellite conferencing center, and network connections throughout the building.
The Library offers an array of services including reference, course reserve, borrowing books, interlibrary loan, and photocopying. Consultations and database searching by faculty librarians are also available. Educational programs covering database and information management topics are taught throughout the year.
