School of Nursing Specialty Review Committee (Pre-IRB)

The focus of the School of Nursing’s Specialty Review Committee (Pre-IRB) is to evaluate proposals prior to submission to the University of Maryland IRB. The IRB has mandated that all schools or departments have this pre-IRB review mechanism in place.

The Specialty Review Committee conducts electronic reviews the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. Proposals and supporting materials are due to the Office of Research on the Friday prior to the next meeting. No exceptions are made to this policy since the reviewers need adequate time to evaluate the proposals. Submitted materials are only accepted in electronic format, i.e., email with attached Word documents.
