Clinical Nurse Specialist/Adult Primary
Care Nurse Practitioner Program

The oncology graduate option is unique because it combines a state-of-the-science specialty track with any one of three possible nurse practitioner programs to produce a blended role
(Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner) oncology advanced practice nurse. Graduates meet the education criterion required to sit for either of the Oncology Nursing Society’s two advanced certification exams (AOCNS® or AOCNP®). The Clinical Nurse Specialist/Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner plan of study incorporates general primary care and oncology-specific coursework, and laboratory and clinical experiences in a variety of ambulatory care settings. Graduates are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification exam. Web-based courses may be available. Full-time, part-time, and post-master’s options are available.

Clinical Nurse Specialist/Gerontology
Nurse Practitioner Program

(Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner) oncology advanced practice nurse. Graduates meet the education criterion required to sit for either of the Oncology Nursing Society’s two advanced certification exams (AOCNS® or AOCNP®). The Clinical Nurse Specialist/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner plan of study incorporates general gerontology and oncology-specific coursework, and laboratory and clinical experiences in acute, ambulatory, home, and hospice care. Graduates are eligible to sit for Certification as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Web-based courses may be available. Full-time, part-time, and post-master’s options are available.

Clinical Nurse Specialist/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program

Graduates meet the education criterion required to sit for either of the Oncology Nursing Society’s two advanced certification exams (AOCNS® or AOCNP®). The Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner plan of study incorporates acute care and oncology-specific coursework, and laboratory and clinical experiences in a variety of inpatient settings. Graduates are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification exam. Web-based courses may be available. Full-time, part-time, and post-master’s options are available.
