There are many ways to get involved as an alumni volunteer and help UMSON fulfill its mission to develop leaders in education, research, and practice.
Each year we seek alumni volunteers who are willing to make calls to solicit support for the Annual Fund. If you would like to help with this important outreach activity, please contact Stacey Conrad at 410-706-6504 or conrad@son.umaryland.edu.

Would you like to reconnect with your classmates? Class Representatives serve a liaison between the UMSON Alumni Office and their class, especially during a reunion. They communicate with fellow alumni, encourage them to attend events and programs, and get more involved with UMSON. If you would be interested in serving as a Class Representative, please send an e-mail to alumni@son.umaryland.edu or call 410-706-0674 and let the Alumni Office know of your interest.
The Fellowship Committee communicates with the Heritage Classes – all those classes that have celebrated their 50th Reunion – by sending birthday cards and other messages to keep this special group of alumni in contact with their alma mater. If you would be interested in joining this committee and helping to reach out to the Heritage Classes, please send an e-mail to alumni@son.umaryland.edu or call 410-706-0674 to advise them of your interest.
The School of Nursing Living History Museum is supported by a dedicated team of volunteer docents, who are retired nurses and alumni of the School. The docents have tremendous wisdom and experience, and their presence is a reminder of the link between nursing’s present and past.
The Museum is currently seeking additional volunteers to help in a variety of roles, including serving as docents who share the history of the School and nursing with students and visitors, as well as behind-the-scenes assistance with collections care and managements, including cataloging artifacts, conducting research, and digitizing collections. If you are interested in getting more involved with the Living History Museum, please contact the museum curator, Dan Caughey, 410-706-2822 or send an e-mail to alumni@son.umaryland.edu.
The UMSON Admissions Office hosts open houses several times a year to introduce prospective nursing students to UMSON’s academic programs. If you would be interested in participation at one of these events and talking with students about your nursing school and professional experiences, contact the Office of Student Services at 410-706-0501 or openhouse@son.umaryland.edu.
