9:45-10:45	Plenary Session The New York University (NYU) Experience: Interprofessional Collaboration Involving Nursing and Dental Hygiene Cheryl M. Westphal Theile, EdD, RDH Clinical Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene NYU College of Dentistry Judith Haber, PhD, APRN, BC, FAAN The Ursula Springer Leadership Professor in Nursing Associate Dean for Graduate Programs NYU College of Nursing The presentation will share the unique experience about the organizational partnership of the NYU Colleges of Nursing and Dentistry. Three professions – nursing, dentistry, and dental hygiene – committed to health promotion, created a vision about implementing an innovative interprofessional oral-systemic health model that has had an impact on the clinical education, practice, and research agenda for all three disciplines. Outcome exemplars of interprofessional initiatives will be shared.
10:45-11:30	The University of Maryland, Baltimore Experience: Creating Infrastructure and Curricular Integration Jacquelyn L. Fried, MS, RDH Associate Professor and Director of Inter-professional Initiatives, UMSOD Shannon Idzik, DNP, CRNP, CCRN Director, DNP Program Assistant Professor, UMSON Oral and systemic health are intertwined. Often, the mouth mirrors what the body experiences; likewise, oral health affects the body and psyche. Oral/systemic links foster collaboration amongst health professionals. The University of Maryland, Founding Campus’ administration is committed to interprofessional education. As UM nursing and dental hygiene faculty strive to create an effective interprofessional education model, they will share their approaches to change, structural challenges faced, guides for success, and resultant curricular innovations.

1:15-2:30	Faculty Facilitated Discussion Groups on Interprofessional Education: Challenges and Opportunities Topics to include: Curricular and clinical innovations Institutional infrastructure considerations Collaborative research (e.g. geriatrics, pediatrics, diabetes) Interprofessional public health care practice
2:30-3:45	Greetings Jay A. Perman, MD President, University of Maryland Group Discussion - Outcomes of Facilitated Groups Future Directions: Putting the Pieces Together This session will highlight insights and recommendations for interprofessional involvement as opinioned and shared by participants in the afternoon breakout sessions. Future directions for clinical, research, and curriculum activities will be discussed.
