Evaluation data regularly serves as the basis for ongoing quality assurance, program development and/or modifications, the University of Maryland School of Nursing has a long history of providing leadership in evaluation. It has an internationally recognized systematic program evaluation that includes assessment of program inputs, processes and outcomes. The comprehensive plan provides multiple data sources tailored toward meeting the informational needs of decision-makers regarding the achievement of program outcomes.
The Evaluation Researcher in the Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for the implementation of the School of Nursing's evaluation plan, including the conduct of a broad range of research and evaluation activities in support of the University System of Maryland, the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the School of Nursing's academic and administrative efforts.
The Evaluation Researcher is responsible for data gathering, analysis, and reporting functions associated with institutional research and evaluation, including collection and analysis of demographic and academic data; design, collection and analysis of data required for internal reviews; collection, analysis, and reporting of data to external and government agencies; and the collection and analysis of data for assessment of outcomes and other research and evaluation activities as needed. Ongoing projects include an annual survey of the alumni; an assessment of students' perceptions of their programs of study at graduation; and an assessment of students' perceptions of their experience with courses and instructors at the end of each semester.
