Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Research, this position will:
- Assist faculty with conceptualizing and writing the design, measurement and analysis sections of grant applications and manuscripts and serves as a co-investigator/team member on extramural grants as the bio-statistician.
- Assist faculty with database creation and management for funded projects on which he/she is co-investigator.
- Identifies data analytic software needs of faculty and graduate nursing students.
- Mentors faculty and doctoral students related to statistical methods for data analysis.
- Conducts research and publishes in a focused area of inquiry, either as principal investigator or as co-investigator/team member on other SON faculty grants.
- Represents the SON at University wide bio-statistical meetings.
- Educator of faculty and doctoral student in cutting-edge data analytic methods.
- Fosters scientific rigor.
- Works with the Associate Dean for Research and other SON statisticians in the development and execution of data analytic policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Position requires academic background and employment experience in the health sciences and a doctoral degree in measurement and/or statistics. Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, writing, analytical, computer, and database skills are a must. The successful candidate will have a strong background in health related statistics, experimental design, knowledge of multivariate and univariate statistics, facility with ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, MANCOVA, multiple regression, logistic regression, factor analysis and discriminant function analysis. Experience with SEM and path analysis is a plus. The preferred candidate will have a sustained record of external funding and evidence of scholarly achievements, including publications and presentations commensurate with an appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor.
