Overview:
The goal of palliative care is to prevent and relieve suffering and to support the best quality of life for patients and their families. Palliative care usually plays a smaller role in the initial illness course and a larger role as the illness progresses. This program highlights the progress made in palliative care research and the integration of palliative care research into practice. Nurses caring for patients and families are key to implementing evidence-based practice changes.
