DHMH Career Start Nursing Scholarship Program

In response to the nursing shortage in the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), the Office of Human Resources, Training Services Division, is offering the DHMH Career Start Nursing Scholarship Program. 

The program will provide two nursing scholarships, one for the last year of a BSN Program and another for the last year of an MSN Program. Applicants must be completing their nursing degree by the Spring of 2008.  Recipients will receive up to $7,500 for the BSN and $10,000 for MSN Scholarship.  Funding will cover the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 Semesters and can be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Those who are selected will:
  1. Be completing their BSN and/or MSN Program in the Spring 2008.
  2. Be working for the DHMH starting in June of 2008.

The Career Start Nursing Scholarship Program will be advertised from January, 2007 – March, 2007. Applications will be on the DHMH, Office of Human Resources Website, http://www.dhmh.md.gov/ohr/ and the Training Services site, http://www.dhmh.state.md.us/tsd/
