Application Process

How to Apply

Our professional admissions staff will assist you in selecting the best degree option for your individual circumstances, preparation, and goals. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend an information session or open house (offered in person or online) at UMSON. Open houses are held each semester and information sessions are held monthly. Both types of events provide attendees with extensive information about our programs and requirements. For more information and the schedule of upcoming events, visit us online, contact us via email, or call us at 410-706-0501 (option 2).

Review Process

Prospective students whose applications, official transcripts, test scores, and other required materials are received by the Office of Admissions by the stated deadlines will be considered for admission for the appropriate semester. All required materials must be received by the Office of Admission by the stated deadline for you to be considered for admission.

Admission is very competitive. The ideal candidate will have a cumulative overall GPA of 3.0. Many applicants admitted to our programs have GPAs significantly above 3.0. All applications meeting the minimum requirements are evaluated by faculty admissions committees. Most program areas evaluate applications in a batch review process.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as early in the respective fall or spring admission cycles as possible.
